Ferrous sulfate
Food grade ferrous sulfate
Chemical name: Ferrous sulfate
CAS:7720-78-7
Molecular formula: FeSO4·7H2O (heptahydrate), FeSO4·nH2O (anhydrous)
Molecular weight: 278.01 (heptahydrate), 169.92/223.92 (anhydrous)
Properties: Blue-green crystals or granules, odorless, slightly salty, astringent. It is prone to decomposition in dry air and gradually oxidizes in moist air, forming yellowish-brown alkaline ferric sulfate.
