What Is Vinyl Silicone Oil (VPDMS)?
Vinyl silicone oil is a linear PDMS polymer terminated with vinyl groups (–CH=CH₂). These terminal vinyl groups enable addition reactions with Si–H containing crosslinkers under platinum catalysis.
Because the vinyl groups are located at the polymer chain ends, curing behavior is clean, well-controlled and highly reproducible.

Vinyl silicone oil provides the reactive vinyl end groups needed for addition-cure crosslinking with Si–H polymers. It determines the final elastomer’s hardness, tensile strength, elongation, transparency and aging resistance. Without stable vinyl content, mechanical performance becomes inconsistent.
