Silica slurry is prepared by pre-treating silica powder and then dispersing it through high shear. To meet the needs of the textile industry, the slurry must be modified to ensure long-term stability, prevent sedimentation, and impart fabric functionality. Typical treatments include surface modification, charge stabilization (by adjusting zeta potential to prevent particle aggregation), thickening and anti-settling, and sterilization and preservation.
